Last time we ate here, my husband and I were the king and queen of glutton and excess. It was just the two of us, on a rare lunch date, and we ordered from the Family Dinner Special, a prix fixe of sort. But instead of ordering the “Dinner for 2” like any sane couple would, we ordered from the “Dinner for 4.” Even the waiter looked at us kind of strangely. Yes, we like food THAT much.
We, of course, didn’t eat everything, but we did take home whatever we didn’t eat. I remember this absolutely delicious lotus root salad that everyone MUST try at least once. It was absolutely perfect.
So today, during a very stressful time shopping for school supplies at Target, my 6-year-old son claimed he was starving so much that he couldn’t move his muscles. So he plopped there in the shopping cart like a piece of boneless chicken. “Tofu,” he whispered weakly. “I need tofu.”
Well this is a good excuse to go to nearby Four Sisters, I thought.
We ordered fried tofu, which wasn’t on the menu, but they made for us anyway. And again we order the Dinner for 4, but this time, it was a party of 6, so it was appropriate, unlike when it was just my husband and me.
I have to say again, that lotus salad is just absolutely amazing, and everything else that included was just as good.
